About Cici

50% of the proceeds from this auction go directly to Cici's special needs trust, for use for items or therapies not covered by insurance. Cici is the beautiful, resilient two year old daughter of our friend, Jenny Fischer and her husband, Matt. Their message: "We are an ordinary family with extraordinary circumstances. One little rambunctious boy, Max, and identical twin girls, Penny and Cici. On October 29, 2008, at 11 months old, Cici choked on a piece of diced canned fruit and spent 2 weeks in the PICU and 4 weeks more in the hospital recovering. She has an anoxic brain injury, which means that her brain was deprived of oxygen and parts of her brain died and all of our lives are very different because of this. She is now severely disabled, but she makes small progress every day and although we don't know what our future looks like, we know that we will be a family helping each other through it all."

About Ben's Bells

50% proceeds from this auction go directly to the non-profit Ben's Bells, based in Tucson - to be earmarked for the distribution of Bells in Colorado, and for supplies to make the Bells locally in Colorado for distribution in the future. Our mission is to inspire, educate and motivate each other to realize the impact of intentional kindness and to empower individuals to act according to that awareness, thereby changing our world. Ben's Bells are beautiful, ceramic wind chimes. The pieces that come together to form a Ben's Bell are crafted by hand. The process of making the pieces of Ben's Bells is therapeutic and FUN - and no artistic ability is necessary! By the time a Ben's Bell is assembled, at least ten people have worked on it making it a TRUE COMMUNITY EFFORT! Ben's Bells are not for sale... Several times a year, hundreds and hundreds of Ben's Bells are hung randomly in public places. The only way to get a Ben's Bell is to find one. And the point?? KINDNESS! We want people to remember how much power they have each day to make the world a better place simply by being kind.
